Success Balance
Since formation in 1998 the Patenpool-Group has already paid back the investors their investment several times plus considerable profits. Examples regarding the performance of the Patentpool-Group are:
- Exit of the foundation investors of the PP-Innovations Management GmbH:
The Venture-Capital Konsortium, consisting of IMH (Industrie Management Holding Treuhand, Berlin), HVC (Hannover Venture Capital), tbg (Technologie Beteiligungsgesellschaft der Deutschen Ausgleichsbank, Bonn) and KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau, Berlin), were refunded ahead of time (after 18 months) the total investment amount plus profit. Total gross profit approx. 28% per annum.
- Profits for convertible bonds:
Convertible bonds subscribed since 2001 and non-converted, were served with profits between 8,25% and 12,5% per annum according to contract.
- Increment values in the investment portfolio:
Company values of the Patentpool targets have in average – depending on the method of valuation – increased by 100% per year. There are of course also targets in the Patentpool-Group, into which time and money was invested without gaining the expected success within the scheduled time and budget margins. These projects we will either close completely or they receive the freeze status, i.e. we observe, if the missing success factors will enrol in the course of time. The lost company values are included as negative balance in the above stated average increment values.
- Exit at Patentpool Technology Funds I GmbH & Co KG:
This exit was executed as announced after 5 years by 31.10.2005 with 17,21% gross profit per annum. Furthermore, deductible losses of approx. 80% of the used capital were realized until the end of 2004.
Already after 5 months more than 70 investors of the RPTT were paid out with a profit of 50%.
